We Believe in Choice

We believe that choice is crucial to the needs of our clients and to the success of our agency.  Our clients will know that they are getting a quality product at a competitive price at all times.  We as an agency will make sure that we always have the best products and services to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. Therefore, we represent several insurance carriers that we have carefully selected to be our partners in business.

Our Team

Chip Schilling - Owner/Principal Agent (chip@ncins.net)

I am a lifelong resident of Harford County and have been serving the community as an insurance agent for over 20 years.

I grew up in the Forest Hill area, attended Hickory Elementary, Southampton Middle, and graduated from John Carroll High School. After graduating from Towson State University, I started my insurance career in 1990 as part-owner of an Allstate agency in Bel Air, along with my father (George Schilling).

After 17 + years working for just one company, I decided to branch out on my own as an independent insurance agent. As an independent insurance agent, I am able to represent several insurance carriers at one time. I felt that this would allow me to better represent my clients needs. With several quality insurance companies connected to my agency, I could now shop around to find the best fit in terms of coverage and price for each individual client.

One company is not necessarily the best option for every single person. So in 2008, I left Allstate and opened Northern Chesapeake Insurance Services, Incorporated.

I am married and have 4 children and live right here in Bel Air.

Amy Harding - Licensed Agent/Sales & Service (amy@ncins.net)

I grew up in the country setting of rural Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, I was nationally certified in Massage Therapy. I enjoyed that career for more than 19 years.  My husband and I and our 2 children moved to Maryland in 2001. My parents and siblings had already made the move to Maryland, and I wanted to join them.

Once in Maryland, I made the decision to become a licensed real estate agent. As a real estate agent I specialized in helping families navigate through the trauma of short sales and foreclosures.  One of the most rewarding things about specializing in that area of real estate was seeing the relief that my clients experienced after I helped them navigate through that difficult process.

I joined the Northern Chesapeake Insurance team in January of 2011.   I have loved learning and becoming a part of an amazing company and look forward to growing with this industry. I am excited to help people get a great insurance policy at a great price! My commitment to excellent customer service is unmatched in this business!

Sales & Service Partner:

Jessica Kotlar - Independent Sales & Service Agent (Jessica@ncins.net)

Jessica began her career with Northern Chesapeake Insurance at the very moment we opened our doors in 2008. Jessica had several years of experience working as a licensed insurance agent for another local independent agent in Bel Air, prior to joining Northern Chesapeake Insurance.

We were fortunate to have a mutual friend refer Jessica to us right as we were beginning to interview agents for the new office. Jessica worked here as a licensed insurance agent doing sales and service for the agency until late in 2009.

In November 2009, Jessica had her first child. At that time, she decided that she would like to stay at home with her baby and not come back to the office to work. So beginning in January 2010, Jessica began working from home as an independent contractor, doing sales and service on her own.
